Letting Them Fail Is Not Always a Bad Thing

Letting Them Fail Is Not Always a Bad Thing By: Phil Machalick (Contributing Writer) Some time back I was helping someone do a job; and while we were working we would encounter problems that needed a solution, at which time I would give advice based on my years of experience; thinking this was helpful. To my surprise, my suggestions were met with rejection; from then on, I learned to hold my peace and wait until they asked for my ideas. It was during these long periods of watching someone try to do something that they had little or no experience in doing that I allowed wisdom to speak to me. If you do everything for them, it robs them of an education. They learn from doing; and if they fail at it, they gain an experience they didn't have before. Being allowed the freedom to fail is a form of love. Many parents seem to protect their children from experiencing any failures or hardships in life; this could be out of a fear mentality while believing they are h...
Two Types of Churches
Two Types of Churches By: Phil Machalick (Contributing Writer) In the New Testament there are two types of churches mentioned: One is the temple and the other is the home church. ( Acts 3, Rom.16:5, 1 Cor.16:19) I want to uncover the importance of a home church; since it has been largely and almost completely neglected. I believe it would be safe to say that most of us are well acquainted with a large church, ministry or professional looking church building and what it might include, therefore we do not need to cover that. The home church on the other hand, has been looked down upon by most church leaders, religious people or the unconverted for that matter; probably because of the past reputation from cult groups that were kept low profile until a tragedy removed the cloak uncovering their ungodly practices, giving the general public a reason not to be part of a home group. One function of a home church is for believers to practice ministering on one...
How Does Patience Work?
Article By: Phil Machalick (Contributing Writer) 12/10/2023 S ome time ago the Lord was telling me to be patient concerning a person and the situation I was in; however there was a problem, I didn't know how to be patient. ⏰ While in prayer I was explaining to the Lord that I desired to be what he wants me to be but I don't understand how to be patient, how does it work? He replied very gently: "your expectations are directly connected to your impatience". What a statement! "Your expectations are directly connected to your impatience." That was heavy duty, I mused on it for a while then I started to apply it to other situations and experiences, to my amazement it fit in all that came to mind. For example: If I get impatient with others that are driving on the highway, it is usually because of what I expected the other driver would or should do. I expected them to stay in their lane, I expected them to use their turn signal before turning in front of...
The Current Day Apostle
The Current Day Apostle By: Phil Machalick (Contributing Writer) The issue of being an apostle has been on my heart lately so I thought it's time to write on this theme: The main office of an apostle is to help the other leaders included in the five fold ministry as found in Ephesians 4:11. The office of the apostle is unique in that it is the only office that its purpose is to assist the others. 1. Apostle 2. Prophet (To edify and point the way through words from God) 3. Evangelist (To reach the lost) 4. Pastor (To feed the flock of God) 5. Teacher (To impart knowledge in a way that's easy to understand) The Lord has placed these different leaders in the church in order to cause the body of Christ to be complete. We need ALL of them. However; it seems to be that for generations the local church would have a pastor, the bible college or seminary would have the teachers, evangelist would be holding tent meetings somewhere and the prophets would be here and there trying ...
Dreams and Visions
By: Phil Machalick (Contributing Writer) There is a difference between dreams and visions; although each are under the revelatory gift heading, they both have differences that set them apart. Visions are mostly what they are, something that is seen much like watching a video; simply looking into a situation either future or past. I knew a person that was shown the last minutes of a currently deceased person's life and how the death occurred and why; this was a vision of the past. A vision needs no interpreting. If a vision takes place at night it is usually called a night vision; a vision that takes place while the person is awake and has their eyes open is usually called an open vision or a day vision. Dreams on the other hand need interpreting. Dreams usually contain dream elements; dream elements are the main objects used in the dream such as but not limited to: vehicles, animals, objects, people, professions, tools, buildings, numbers...
NAM (A poem for Vets)
NAM By: Phil Machalick I core two core three core four the stench when we landed and opened the door felt like a furnace when we got off the plane doing my time no need to complain, Nam My buddies beside me the point man and rear the commander and commo the doc are all here tripwires flares claymores and rounds incoming shells that blew holes in the ground, Nam Five hot meals out of 365 it was the grace of God that kept me alive the shelling stopped and quieted down exhausted from war as we slept on the ground, Nam When morning broke and the dust off came we loaded them up with the dead and the lame pulled off the crates some food and supplies as they revved up their engines and starred a goodbye, Nam Those back home just have no clue the horrors I've seen and what I've been through, Nam Also check out the song : Ballad of Clyde H.
